PSL: Peter Parker Accidentally causes a Paradox

Peter wanted to be the first person to go on record and say he didn't like this plan. There were about a thousand ways anyone could screw up this very sensitive and very delicate mission and he's Peter Parker. The kid that accidentally handed over military grade technology over to lunatic. Why exactly was he being trusted with this.

"Are you listening to me, Parker?" Nick Fury snapped him back to attention and he nodded with wide eyes because he wasn't listening-he was panicking and imagining the worst outcome because that's what he was best at.

"Yeah-Yes. Of course. I turn the thing-get the-the deal and comeback." Fury gave him a look and Peter shrank back a little. "Uh-I was-I was paraphrasing." He muttered. Fury started to hand him the time travel watch and Peter strapped it onto his wrist. He was still convinced this was a terrible mistake but he wasn't going to pass up a chance to travel in time.

"Remember-it's of vital importance that Stark doesn't catch you-or catch on to what you're there for. Do you understand." He asked as Peter was punching in the coordinates he was given-except that he typo'd the coordinates at the shock of the statement. His stomach dropped to the floor as he realized just how impossible this mission might be. Who was the last person to steal from Tony Stark and him NOT know about it? He it the 'go button' and soon after found himself outside of what looked like a more dystopian version of Stark Industries.

"Uh oh." Peter glanced down at the wrist watch and noticed the year was 2021. "This... is bad." He says out loud.

"What?" Peter makes a face, as if he would do that. He was honestly questioning his ability to not seek Tony out for this mission but he hadn't voiced that. "No? I just-I uh... it's kinda complicated and I'm actually-I was-Fury told me I should try not to talk to you."

Tony took a step back, his expression darkening in rage. "Four years. Four years, I've believed you were dead. You let me believe that because Nick Fury told you to? You'd let anyone tell you to do that to me?"

Peter also takes a step back as he's picking up on that feeling that he's in dangerous territory. It probably says a lot that it's a little comforting to feel that dread that only Tony Stark's 'look' could instill in him.

"What? No! I Didn't-I mean-I did. I am dead-well I was back then. Right now. But I come back. Like I said it's way complicated and I've already said way more than I should have and already probably caused a paradox but in my defense this-this was a really bad idea. and it wasn't even mine." But it was his idea to give Beck access to all of Stark Industries weapon systems.

Wait, what?

"You've traveled through time?" He asked. Why else would he be talking about paradox. "I had a theory about how that would work but.. you actually did it?" Paint him impressed! He breathed a sigh of relief, letting go of all the anger that he rushed through him only moments ago. "So, somehow in the future you're alive again?"

Peter has to stop himself from telling Tony that he did figure out time travel because he can't change the past more than he's already done. How many alternate realities has he created in just these last few minutes?

"Uh... Yeah. Yeah. Something in the future brings me back-but I wasn't supposed to tell you any of that and Fury is gonna kill me."

"Sorry I doubted you, kid." Tony gestured for Peter to follow him. "He's not here either, so I don't think you have to worry about that right now. Come on. We should get you somewhere you won't get caught again."

He didn't know why Peter kept taking off his mask, but getting the kid somewhere safe was the priority. There wasn't anywhere safer than near Tony, right?

"So why are you back? What do I need to help you do?"

Maybe not right now but he'd definitely kill him when he returns to the future. Whenever that is. Does he have to go back? Probably.

"Huh? Oh. You can't-I mean I'm supposed to-uh-I kinda really, really messed up in future? Or Recently-or whatever and Fury sent me back to find records on someone because we're pretty sure he used to work for you? But he definitely destroyed all record of that. Or he will-I wonder if he got blipped." He says the last more to himself than to Tony as he follows after him.

Tony raised an eyebrow and listened to that- whatever it was. "Peter, you're standing in your stealth uniform in broad daylight with your mask off. Clearly you got hit in the head between when you came back to life and now. Do you have street clothes with you or are you just wearing that?"

Peter makes a face like he's about to take offense to that but then stops. "Uh-Actually... kind of a lot..." He realizes. "But I'm fine-I mean I'm fine now-That's not why I'm here-do you remember the uh-shit what did you call it? The Augumented reality thing SI made?"

He looks down at his stealth suit after a moment and then just shakes his head. "I was actually supposed to go back to 2016 and it wasn't even supposed to take that long.
